Name: Thomas Michael Roddy Date: February 10th, 1966 - November 9th, 2009 Obituary: Eldersburg, MD-Thomas M. Roddy, age 43, of Eldersburg, MD, died on November 9, 2009, at Johns Hopkins Hospital after a brief battle with brain cancer. Born in Colonie, NY, he is the son of of Francis L. and Esther (DonVito) Roddy. He is survived by his loving companion of over 13 years, Tammy M. DeRossett. Tom was a 1984 graduate of Colonie Central High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Siena College in 1988 and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1992. Tom was the president and co-founder of Netrition, Inc., an online nutrition store established in 1997. Prior to Netrition, Tom worked for the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD as a computer scientist. He enjoyed racquetball, tennis, bodybuilding, nutrition, healthy living, and helping family and friends. Tom was the beloved father of Julia Roddy, and Dylan DeRossett; dear brother of Katherine M. Kenworthy (the late Paul), Theresa R. Minissale (Frank), John F. Roddy (Jean Marie), Francis L. Roddy Jr (Debbie Martino), Bernard P. Roddy (Sandra), and Nicholas E. Roddy (Kristina); he is survived by his dear friends, Jim and Mary Albert, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:15 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 12:00 pm where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday, November 13, 2009, 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
