LOUDONVILLE- Elizabeth Minnock Klein, 90, died Monday, January 25, 2010. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Katherine Dugan Minnock. She received her elementary and high school education from the former Vincentian Institute and graduated from the College of St. Rose in 1941 with a degree in commerce. She was employed by New York State and retired in 1977 from her position as Administrative Officer of the Dept. of Commerce after 37 ½ years of State service.
Mrs. Klein was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of the Church of St. Pius X, the Ladies of Charity, the Alumni Association of the College of St. Rose, The University Club, the Lake George Assoc. and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Mrs. Klein is survived by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Mary M. and Robert L. Burkard of Buffalo; four nieces and their husbands Katherine B .and Richard Taddeo of Webster, Mary Anne and John W. Dutka of Ballston Lake, Elizabeth B. Pasker of Buffalo and Joan and Mark Corey of Stanhope, NJ; two nephews and their wives, Robert F. and Paula G. Burkard and James M. and Patty Jo Burkard all of Buffalo. She is also survived by 9 great nieces and great nephews and many cousins.
Mrs. Klein was the wife of the late Charles T. Klein, who died in 1968. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Kathryn F. Minnock, who died in 1995 and Margaret A. Minnock, who died in 1972 and her cousin Rosemary Biggi Zweig.
Funeral services Thursday at 9:15 AM from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, thence to St. Pius X Church at 10:00 AM. ,where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Betty in a special way may send contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
