Name: Emanuel T. Dedeo Date: September 6th, 1921 - January 23rd, 2010 Obituary: Albany-Emanuel T."Sonny" Dedeo, 88, died peacefully in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, Saturday, January 23, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Donato and Grace Pietracola DiDio. Mr. Dedeo attended Siena College, and was a 1938 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. He was a US Marine Corp WW II Veteran, and saw action at Peleliu and Okinawa. He was the former proprietor of the Lark Tavern in Albany, which was established by his father in 1935. Mr. Dedeo retired as a Veterans Counselor for the New York State Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a former member of both the American Legion and Albany Elks Lodge. He enjoyed vacationing in Aruba and the Adirondacks. He was the husband of the late Anne H. Golembieski Dedeo; father of Daniel T. Dedeo (Karen) and Barbara A. Koehler (Kevin); grandfather of Jessica A. Koehler, Kelly A. Dedeo, Daniel R. Dedeo, Christina M. Dedeo, and Kimberly R. Dedeo; brother of Lucy Van Bergen, Esther Orlando, and Louis Didio; special neighbor to Euro DePoli; he is survived by many other wonderful and loving family members. Funeral services Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:45 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Parish of Mater Christi (formerly St. Catherine of Siena Church) at 11:30 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, January 26, 2010 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
